According to the head of the Odesa regional military administration Maksym Marchenko, one missile hit the bridge itself, the second fell not far from it, and the third fell into the water.

6:45, on April 27, the Russian Armed Forces repeatedly struck the same bridge in the Odesa region, which connects the south of the region with mainland Ukraine and passes through the Dniester estuary.

The Ukrainian railway company also confirmed that the bridge was damaged. There are no details about the extent of the destruction. There is no report about victims either.

The bridge is of strategic importance — it connects the southern part of the Odesa region with the rest of Ukraine. It is also accessible from Romania, in particular, from the port of Constanta. If the bridge is destroyed, the only way to travel on land will be through the territory of Moldova.

The attack on the bridge in the Odesa region was carried out against the background of the escalation of the situation in neighboring Transnistria.
