The ex-head of the principal office of the National Police in the Donetsk region, deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine, general Vyacheslav Abroskin, offered the occupants his own life in exchange for the children of Mariupol via his Facebook page.
«Even before the war, I promised the city residents that in case of war I would defend Mariupol together with «Azov». This war happened when I was in Odessa.
Today, many children remain in the destroyed city. If we don’t save them now, they will die in upcoming days, even hours. I am appealing to the Russian occupants: let us get the children out. In exchange for the still alive children, I am offering myself. I am asking to get in Mariupol to get all the children together and organize the evacuation. I need three days in the city. I will turn myself in at the last checkpoint on our trip out with the children. This is my own decision.
My life belongs to me, and I offer it in exchange for the lives of children who are still in Mariupol,» he wrote.
