Info: «Barabashovo» market is the biggest in Eastern Europe and one of the largest in the world. More than 15,000 people worked at the market each day.

Mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhiv on Thursday reported that during the extinguishing of the fire the enemy inflicted repeated shelling, during which 2 rescuers were injured by fragmentation. They were immediately sent to a medical institution. During the hospitalization, one of the rescuers died from the injuries.

As of 19:00, the fire spread to private dwellings (the number is still clarifying). Twenty-one fire-rescue units and about 100 State Emergency Service personnel were involved in the extinguishing.
